On February 26, an agreement was officially signed in Yancheng for the Sinovel Sheyang Port shipping project. Senior officials that attended the signing ceremony were Li Qiang, Mayor of Yancheng, Chen Zhengbang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yancheng Committee and Deputy Mayor of Yancheng, and Han Junliang, Board Chairman and President of Sinovel Wind Co., Ltd. Sinovel Vice President Liu Zhengqi, Yancheng Development and Reform Commission Director Guo Yusheng and Sheyang County Mayor Gu Qiangsheng signed on the agreement.

Li Qiang, on behalf of the CPC Yancheng Committee and Yancheng Government, gave his congratulations for the launch of the project and thanked Sinovel for its unwavering support for the development of the wind power industry in Yancheng. He said this shipping project will greatly expand the wind power industry in Yancheng, upgrade the wind power product mix and increase the assembly and shipping capacity for large-scale offshore wind power equipment.

Han Junliang in his speech thanked the relevant departments of Jiangsu Province and Yancheng City for their long-standing generous support. He said that in the new year Sinovel will launch the 5MW wind turbine, finish building the "National Offshore Wind Power Technology and Equipment R&D Center" which has the world's cutting-edge technologies, state-of-the-art equipment and leading R&D and laboratory capabilities, and work hard to achieve the company's strategic objective of hitting the world's top 3 list in 3 years and becoming No.1 in 5 years. By continuing its sincere long-term strategic cooperation with Yancheng Government and giving full play to its advantages as a leading enterprise, Sinovel will proceed with the design and construction of the Sinovel Sheyang Port shipping project in a high-profile, high-speed and high-quality manner to fulfill the objectives of this project.

When the first phase is put into operation, the project will have the annual shipping capacity for 600MW of 5MW-above wind turbines. Upon completion of the whole project, it will become an international, modernized harbor-side wind power park characterized by the shipping, testing and installation services for 5MW-above super-scale wind turbines.
