At 10 am, February 3, China's first 3MW offshore wind turbines independently developed by Sinovel Wind Group Co., Ltd, also one of the mainstream products in the world with the most advanced technologies, successfully passed the 240-hour pre-acceptance test at the 102MW Shanghai Donghai Bridge offshore wind farm, which is China's first offshore wind power pilot project.

The 240-hour pre-acceptance test for the 3 SL3000 wind turbines started at 10:00 am, January 24, and ended at 10:00 am, February 3. During the 10-day trial run, the wind turbines withstood the tests of salt fog, cold wave, high wind and other severe weather conditions, and all together had generated 562MWh of electricity. The statistics show that the Sinovel 3MW offshore wind turbines had given excellent performance. The power curves had fully met or exceeded the rated indicators, and the availability was of the internationally advanced level. Upon completion of the 240-hour test, the wind turbines officially entered the warranty period.

At present, 3MW offshore wind turbines are under installation at the Shanghai Donghai Bridge offshore wind farm in an intense but orderly manner. All the 34 wind turbines will be installed within the month and will be put into operation before the opening of Expo 2010 Shanghai to supply clean energy for this grand world event.
