On November 7, the result of the CIIF 2009 (China International Industry Fair 2009) awards appraisement was unveiled at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Among over 4600 competing products, 4 have won the gold award, 9 the silver award, 14 the bronze award, and 12 the "innovation award". The 3MW offshore wind turbine of Sinovel Wind Co., Ltd. is one of the 4 products that have won the gold award. Having reached the internationally advanced level, this product is a breakthrough in China's independent R&D and production of offshore high power wind turbines. It can meet the needs of building offshore/intertidal wind farms in China and is of great significance in alleviating the energy and environmental pressure in the eastern coastal areas and upgrading China's design and manufacturing of large-scale wind power equipment.
